In the Indian society a lady is not only a lady. She is mother, sister and wife. Similarly a man is not only a man. He is brother, friend, son father , husband and any one else not only a body. All such relations make a family and so many families make the society. And in this way chain goes on growing. To make life meaningful and conscious, the festivals are celebrated. In this chain of festivals Bhai Dooj is celebrated to strengthen the bond of love and affection between brother and sister. As told earlier every festival has some legends as legends are taken as the backbone of festivals. Legends describe how the festival was celebrated for the first time and how it became a tradition. The legends are of great value in cultivating interest in the younger generations towards festivals.
