Padwa remains to be the first lunar day of sukl paksh. This day is celebrated as Balipadyami. In the beginning we have told you that Lord Vishnu measured the whole earth, heaven with his two feet and third foot was kept on the head of King Bali. Ultimately King Bali was pushed to Patal- the underworld. And on this Padwa day he was brought back to the earth because of the blessings of Lord Vishnu. Thus Bali came back to earth on Padwa. Thus it is called to be Bali Padyami.From this very day New Year of Vikrmi Samvat starts. This day is known as the coronation day of Vikrmaditya. It is also known as to be Gudi Padwa . Gudi means better. Thus it is known as to be the symbol of more love and sincerity in the relationship of husband and wife. On this day brothers use to go to their newly wedded sister's houses to invite them along with their husbands for special meals.
Actually there is a mythological story of Govardhan Celebration. In ancient times, God Indra was worshiped by people all over India. But lord Krishna said to the people that there is a know use of worshiping Indra in kartik month is not rainy season. So we should worship mountains and plant tree and grass over them for the better meats cows. We should also protect mountains and forest over the mountains. We should not waste cow doing as a feel but we should use it as maneere for growing crops. This will improve our life. Bing inspired from lord Krishna's words people started worshiping mountains, forest and cow doing. When god Indra saw this, he got angry with the people and started rain over there. It rained heavily and continually for given days then lord Krishna lifted a Goverdhan mountain on his little finger and protected the people of his village Gokul. When Indra saw power of lord Krishna he came to understand that Krishna is not a common men, he must be omnipotent lord Vishnu so regretted his misbehave before lord Krishna and pleaded to for give him. Since that day this festival is being celebrated every year.
Annakoot or Annku : This fourth day of Diwali celebration is known as Annkoot also. On this day deities' alongwith Lord Krishna are offered 108 kinds of food. This function is mainly observed in temples. And devotees use to take this as Prasad.
