Emergence of Lakshmi

 

Deepawali is the festival of lights, brightness and birthday of goddess lakshmi. Shri lakshmi is the goddess of health, wealth and beauty. Goddess lakshmi is known for samundra mathan.

 

Once upon a time a great Saint Durvasa went for a walk and met dev indra. Indra ignorded the saint and threw the garland given by durvasa an airavata. On this behavior durvasa got angry, and cursed him by shouting on him let, lakshmi left you. "Indra realized his mistake and left ashamed. He said sorry to him. By this, durvasa said, "Sri Vishnu will help you and left him. After this saying, goddess lakshmi left indra. At that moment indra lost everything he lost his kingdom. Devils attacked indra. For saving his life he went to lord Vishnu with his teacher and guide brihaspati lord adviced him to make the devils his friends and with there help churn the sea of milk. On churning process, the nector was produced and drunked by all the gods. Devi lakshmi immediately appeared there in a beautiful lotus. He gave all back which was taken from indra. Sea king appeared and took goddess lakshmi as his daughter. This is a story of dev indra and devi lakshni .

 

Hindu celebrates the birth of lakshmi on the 3rd day deepawali. People worship at dark night of amavasya with light of diyas, candles, bulbs and different types of crackles. People decorated there houses by cleaning and white wash.
