Diwali in Malaysia

 

Malaysia is a country known for its diversity having all Asian cultures in it. Diwali in Malaysia in celebrate by all the people ( who belong to anyrace) who are living there permanently or you can say who has been living these for many generations. In Malaysia Diwali in not celebrated  with great pomp and show as is celebrated  in India but for the people having Indian Culture in their roots it is the time to remember their home from far away. They celebrate this with great courage and happiness. On this day they invite the people of other Asian culture to their homes, serve them with good delicious food. People share sweets with their friends and surrounding people. They celebrate this festival as the symbol of win of good over evil. They also decorate their houses, clean their houses on this occasion. They lit candle etc. to light their homes on their occasions. But cracker firing is not done in Malaysia as crackers are banned by Malaysian government. In Malaysia Diwali is known as Hari Diwali. People do oil bath before performing other rituals of Diwali. This oil bath is south Indian tradition of Diwali. On this day people buy new furniture, crockeries & many other things for their houses to bring good luck to them like in India people do. People go to temple to worship the god & goddess & offer their prayers for harmony & prosperity. Diwali is celebrated in almost whole Malaysia but there are some places like Sarawalk, Federal Territory of Labuan, Diwali is not celebrated. It is public holiday in Malaysia & people go to their elders on this day to take their blessings.
